Welcome to our wee experiment in blogging and discussion.
The topics for NOSMeLD will initially be directed towards the
Northern Ontario School of Medicine eLearning Discussions
...hence the slightly awkward acronym. It will have to do for now.
This is a temporary measure. It is likely that this blog will gradually be "melded" into the other excellent web-based resources at the school. Check out
www.normed.ca for more information on NOSM itself.
We hope that this experiment itself will generate some discussion on how best to use some of the new tools such as blogs to create a collaborative electronic learning environment for our students, faculty and staff.

I think that alot of people who are not technology addicts such as you or I, misinterpret what a blog is - most people I've talked to think it's some sort of slow chatroom.
For a blog to truly be effective - you need to advertise it well, by which I mean that the more people you have posting on a blog, the more interesting it becomes and the more people will tend to use it regularly.
